I have always been drawn to projects that challenge me to learn something new. Through this openness, grateful collaboration, and an eye for detail, I have learned all about delving into a user’s experience, building a social media brand presence, exploring how to craft a successful image (literally and figuratively), finding new ways to present information through infographics and video, and everything in between. Below, browse a small sample of projects. Download my history here.

Chatham Hall School: Rector announcement
Announcing a new rector to this all-girls boarding school in southwestern Virginia required sensitivity to the myriad of audiences being informed: current and prospective families; faculty and staff; and alumnae and donors. Using iconic cover photography and highlighting the new rector’s philosophy and excitement, along with intimate photos of her with her family, offered a unique and confident portrait of the school’s new leader.

Eviden + AWS: Infographic for AIsaac Cyber Mesh
This infographic was created as part of a suite of materials including an e-book, sales and first-call decks, and solution brief (created as a contractor for C&Z Marketing). The illustrations are custom created to reflect Eviden’s brand guidelines which dictate isometric flat color designs. The overflow of images over blocks of colors and brand textures creates downward motion for the infographic coupled with dynamic typography invite users to scroll and follow the storyline.

Cognizant: Timeline of Next
Cognizant Technologies asked many of their high-level leaders to write thought leadership pieces on the future of the workplace. As the Covid-19 pandemic had made its sustained mark on what form not only workplace dynamics took, but business itself, these seasoned professionals offered their take on how we as a society can pivot to incorporate some of the revelations and positive outcomes gleaned from a truly disruptive and jarring time. Using a forward momentum and metaphorical imagery, the piece is engaging and intriguing, thoughtful and hopeful.

North Cross School: Advertisement
North Cross School, an independent pre-k – grade 12 school in southwest Virginia has consistently ranked as the top private school according to the city’s Roanoker Magazine’s annual reader poll. For the full-page ad promoting the school in that publication, I created a call-to-action and ad copy that captures the inspiration for our educators who see teachable moments everywhere they go, not just inside the classroom. For these individuals, teaching is not a job, it’s a calling.

Flaveur Artisanal Condiments:
logo and packaging design
In order to compete in the saturated market of specialty food products, I created a design that would highlight the micro-focused palette of these hybrid sauces by labeling of them as a series (No. 1, etc.). Not only does it foster a “collect them all!” mentality in the consumer, but it also shows the limited nature of the product, heightening its small-batch brand reputation. The hand-drawn silver spoon reiterates the careful quality the brand promotes.

CrossCurrents Speaker and Dialogue Series
The logo was created based on branding guidelines established by the school which drove the font choice and color scheme for this newly established speaker series for the school’s high school population and surrounding community. The series brought together invited speakers under one, cohesive event umbrella. What once was scattershot appearances based on various departmental invitations, now became a thoughtful lecture series where the entire community could engage, listen and converse. The logo was used in posters, press releases and email blasts throughout the year.

Elite Performance Solutions: Website
You’ve seen wearables for a while now, everything from a watch to a ring, but this bioinformatics startup has a different focus—literally. The company uses proprietary software and an EEG headband to measure a person’s brain activity and translate the information into actionable, user-friendly activities and measurements that improve focus, cognitive agility and stamina.

Elite Performance Solutions: Sales Sheet
Big data is everywhere. Elite Performance Solutions (EPS) aims to take the data within us, our biometric data, to help elite athletes improve their focus and reaction times. EPS uses wearable neuro-metric devices accompanied by a platform that trains an athlete’s brain, much as a personal trainer would train the body. The design is open and clear: black and white photography layered with data points coupled with convincing, straight-forward text.

Prepare to Succeed (PDF) | Explore what is Possible (PDF)
Being a pre-kindergarten through grade 12 school, the outcomes expected by families vary based on the age of the child. To that end, I created two separate books: first, one that targets potential middle and upper school families who are focused primarily on college preparation; and second, a lower school book that illustrates the crucial role a school plays in inspiring curiosity, character development and academic proficiency in young children. The books also serve as lead generators for prospective families who must submit their contact information on the website before receiving the PDF download. The Prepare to Succeed book won the CASE National Circle of Excellence Bronze Award for Communications: Design on a Shoestring in 2020.

Zeyben + Company: logo
The mark was created for a company whose tech credentials lie behind the scenes, so to speak. Think computer coding but cutting edge. Because the firm is small and takes a human approach to its solutions, the mark needed to feel modern, yet approachable. Niche, yet high-tech. By introducing the forward slash and plus sign, I brought in familiar coding language cues, mixed with a warm serif “edge.”
